My name is Antony and I am a songwriter, musician and author. The people who know me as a musician will know me as Tinny Bennett. I have been writing and performing music for over 30 years, but in recent years, I have decided to concentrate more on writing books.
I continue to work with other musicians and perform, as I still have passion for creativity with music, but I discontinued working as a solo artist and The Tinny Bennett Band so I could work on new music projects and focus on writing books
As well as music and writing, I am also very interested in the paranormal. Many years ago, I created a local paranormal group where we investigated several locations, which turned me from a non believer to a believer.
Behind the story
Bobby came about when about when one of my girls mentioned bobbing the apple. Out of nowhere I had this idea of a friendly little apple who was lovable in nature and also brave and heroic. I have always read children’s books to my children when they were young and loved the innocence and magic of stories.
I pondered over this character Bobby and made little adventures up in my head. I then came up with friends for him, and this is where Prunella and Benny came from. Benny the banana in my mind was a mischievous but loving character, so I decided to make him this cheeky, yet lovable character in the book. Prunella is the damsel in distress type of character, but begins to become more brave and finds herself in later stories.
Why I write
For me, writing children’s books is about escaping the real world and creating a fun and innocent environment outside the real world, which can be scary and not very nice sometimes.
The stories I write are intended to bring hope and instill good values into all who read my stories.
As a spiritual person, I will never lose hope of a brighter and beautiful future for the good people in this world.
